Depressão e ansiedade no doente com hipersensibilidade/alergia medicamentosa : uma revisão da literatura

Abstract

Introdução: Diversos estudos verificam que a doença alérgica acarreta um elevado peso social, económico e também psicológico para o doente. No entanto, a maioria da evidência corresponde à relação entre a depressão e ansiedade e as diferentes manifestações de doença alérgica, mas não a hipersensibilidade/alergia medicamentosa. Assim, nesta revisão da literatura, é analisada a evidência existente acerca da relação entre a depressão e ansiedade na hipersensibilidade/alergia medicamentosa, de forma que seja possível ter uma melhor abordagem e conhecimento deste tipo de doente. Metodologia: Foi utilizada a plataforma PubMed para a pesquisa e seleção de artigos. Foram excluídos artigos com data de publicação anterior ao ano 2000, e artigos cujo conteúdo não se adequava ao tema do trabalho, ou seja, que após leitura do abstract, encontravam-se fora do âmbito da Psiquiatria/Alergologia ou com conteúdo que não alergia/hipersensibilidade medicamentosa e depressão e/ou ansiedade. Resultados: Foi analisada a metodologia, resultados e conclusões de nove trabalhos. Na maioria dos estudos selecionados confirma-se a existência de níveis mais elevados de ansiedade e depressão no doente com reações de hipersensibilidade medicamentosa/ alergia medicamentosa, apesar das diferentes metodologias entre os trabalhos. Conclusão: Verifica-se a existência de níveis mais elevados de ansiedade e depressão no doente com reações de hipersensibilidade a fármacos/ alergia medicamentosa. No entanto a literatura existente acerca deste tema é escassa.

Introduction: Many studies show that allergic disease has a high social, economic, and psychological burden. However, most of the evidence available is about the relation between anxiety and depression and other manifestations of the allergic disease, and not the hypersensitivity/ allergy to medication specifically. Therefore, in this literature review it’s gathered the existing evidence so we can analyze the relation between anxiety/depression and the patient with drug allergy/hypersensitivity, in order to better understand this type of patient. Methodology: PubMed was used for research and selection of articles. Studies with publication date prior to the year 2000 and studies which content wasn’t adequate to the theme of the review were excluded. That means that after reading the abstract, if the studies were out of the Psychiatry/Allergology scope or didn’t include drug allergy/hypersensitivity and depression and/or anxiety, they were excluded. Results: Nine studies were selected, and their methodology, results and conclusions were analyzed. In most of the selected studies, high levels of anxiety and depression were confirmed in patients with drug hypersensitivity/allergy reaction, even though different methodologies were used. Conclusion: There is high levels of anxiety and depression in the patient with drug hypersensitivity/allergy reaction. Therefore, there is scarce literature about this theme.
