Resumo: The development of gymnastics has been increasingly greater, being a modality in constant evolution that has a formative and educational status. Based on this idea and invoking the rigor of Communication Design, in the empirical component of the project, a notation system was built for the gymnastic area of Aerobic Gymnastics. This modality is constituted by a language of body movements and the proposed notation system is able to register all the referred movements and allow their reproduction, with the possibility of being applied through recent technological means, thus constituting a graphic tool, through use of design strategies in Communication Design, which allow access to coaches, gymnasts, judges, among other professionals, and curious people who do not have an effective means for this purpose. By studying and graphically analyzing all the material of these functional objects from a compositional and graphic point of view, it will be possible to understand the meaning of their shapes and the syntax of their graphics. This semiotic approach will encompass Communication Design concepts for a possible characterization of notation systems, not only at the level of their constituents and processes, but also at the level of their form that serves the meaning function, such as numbers, letters, body designs or abstract. Any communication system is composed of a set of signs that have a graphic and semantic relationship between them, without forgetting, however, that communication is composed of a cognitive and emotional process. In this sense, all the systems of notation that exist in the field of choreography, represent a detailed analysis of each moment of the movement of the body that ends up being codified and represented by symbols. The use of the written and oral survey method is very important, it will allow to verify the need for simplification of the current system of notation, taking into account that the symbols cannot represent a connection with the human body, much less, with the idea of respective movement.
