A compreensão de metáforas interpessoais por aprendentes chineses de PLE

Abstract

Esta dissertação pretende investigar a compreensão de expressões metafóricas, nomeadamente as que envolvem, no mínimo, uma metáfora gramatical do subtipo interpessoal. Serão visados atos de fala, designadamente os relacionados com a comunicação interpessoal quotidiana oral e escrita, por aprendentes chineses de PLE. Tendo como referências os textos matriciais de Halliday e Matthiessen (1985/ 1994/ 2004) Thompson (2014) e Fan Wenfang (2001), e investigação anterior aplicada ao contexto de aprendizagem de PLE (Avelar, 2008; Sun Yuqi, 2015; Liu Yang, 2019), o trabalho investiga a compreensão de expressões metafóricas interpessoais por aprendentes chineses de PLE do nível intermédio e avançado (níveis B2 e C1 do QECR) e tenta identificar obstáculos significativos, formais ou contextuais, para a mesma compreensão. Para o efeito, levamos a cabo um inquérito construído em torno de três textos e dezoito enunciados autênticos, devidamente contextualizados, que incluem os atos de fala de opinião (acordo e desacordo) e da ordem, realizados através de metáforas de modo de modalidade com graus de formalidade distintos. Os dados obtidos disponibilizam informação mais detalhada sobre a compreensão num processo de aprendizagem de alunos PLE nos níveis referidos, designadamente por aprendentes chineses, abrem perspectivas para estudos posteriores nesta área e permitem sustentar novas ideias para a construção de recursos didáticos que visem melhorar a compreensão de alunos chineses de PLE.

This dissertation investigates the understanding of metaphorical expressions, namely how it involves, at least, a grammatical metaphor of the interpersonal subtype. Speech acts, namely those related to daily oral and written interpersonal communication, by Chinese learners of Portuguese as a foreign language (PFL) will be targeted. With the ultimate works of Halliday and Matthiessen (1985/1994/2004) Thompson (2014) and Fan Wenfang (2001) as references, and previous research applied to the PFL learning context (Avelar, 2008; Sun Yuqi, 2015; Liu Yang, 2019), the work investigates the understanding of interpersonal metaphorical expressions by Chinese PFL learners at intermediate and advanced levels (levels B2 and C1 of the CEFR) and tries to identify significant obstacles, formal or contextual, for the same understanding. To this end, we carried out a survey built on three texts and eighteen authentic contextualized utterances, which include the speech acts of opinion (agreement and disagreement) and order, carried out through metaphors of mode with distinct degrees of formality. The data obtained provide more detailed information about the understanding in a learning process of PFL at the referred levels, namely by Chinese learners. They open new perspectives for further studies in this area and are able to sustain new ideas for the construction of didactic resources aiming to improve the understanding of these learners.
