Founded in 1910, the School of Agriculture (ISA) is one of the most prestigious schools for education and research in the areas of Agricultural Engineering, Forestry, Animal Science, Food and Environment, Landscape Architecture and Biology. Located in the heart of Lisbon, ISA Campus is a real Living Lab, with 100 hectares of natural, agricultural and forest landscapes, held excellent research facilities and high-tech equipment. Supported by near 200 highly qualified teaching and researchers, ISA hosts 4 Research and Development Units (R&D) and is organized in 2 Departments, ensuring high education and research. ISA ambition is to contribute to the National and European policies and create economic and social values in Innovation Agendas such as Sustainable Agricultural, Food Safety, Circular Economy, Forests and Biodiversity, Climate Change and New Urban Landscapes.

ISA - Biblioteca [3536]

The Library of the School of Agriculture (BISA) is the largest national university library specialized in Agricultural Sciences. Founded in 15th June of 1853, with the establishment of the Instituto Superior Agrícola and the Escola Regional de Lisboa, BISA holds the largest portuguese bibliographical collection in the areas of Agricultural Engineering, Animal Science, Forestry, Food and Environment and also Landscape Architecture and Biology. The collections included in the ISA-Library Community encompasses ISA's academic production, including the Inaugural Dissertations, the Master Dissertations and the Doctoral Theses, as well as Internship Bachelor Reports and the Professional Activity Reports. The Anais, a set of publications representing part of ISA's academic scientific activity since 1920, are also included.

Research at ISA is supported by the scientific activity developed by its four Research Units, namely: the Linking Landscape, Environment, Agriculture and Food (LEAF), the Forest Research Centre (CEF), the Centre for Applied Ecology “ Professor Baeta Neves” (CEABN) and the ISA Pole of the Research Centre in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources (CIBIO-InBIO). The collections included in the ISA-Research Community encompass the scientific production of its Research Units, including articles published in national and international journals, books and book chapters, communications in conferences and technical and scientific reports.
