Abstract(s)
Este projecto insere-se no âmbito da cadeira de Projecto em Engenharia Informática,
(PEI), do Mestrado de Engenharia Informática da Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade
de Lisboa.
É um projecto conjunto entre o LASIGE (Laboratório de Sistemas de Informação de
Grande Escala) e o Laboratório de Proteómica do Centro de Genética Humana do INSA
(Instituto Nacional de Saúde Dr. Ricardo Jorge).
Este trabalho tem como objectivo a criação de um sistema de informação para
integrar, analisar e disponibilizar dados biomédicos derivados de estudos realizados no
laboratório de Proteómica do Instituto Ricardo Jorge. Estes dados eram armazenados de
forma não estruturada e incompleta, o que dificultava a manutenção, o cruzamento e a
respectiva consulta dos dados pretendidos. Os estudos estão relacionados com a
investigação de tratamento de doenças, tais como: fibrose quística, asma, DPOC, estando
previsto o alargamento futuro a outro tipo de doenças, tais como doenças hepáticas.
This assignment is being developed for the 'IT Engineering Project' discipline within a Masters in IT Engineering by Lisbon University's Faculty of Sciences. It's a joint project between LASIGE (Large Scale Information Systems Laboratory) and the Proteomics Laboratory of INSA's Human Genetics Centre. This assignment endeavours to create an information system capable of integrating, analyse and share biomedical data arising from research made by INSA's Proteomics Laboratory. Up until now, this data has been stored in an unstructured and incomplete way, making it extremely hard to view, maintain and cross reference the desired information. The data relates to research on treating diseases such as cystic fibroses, asthma and COPD. It is envisaged that the scope will be widened to include other diseases, like hepatic ones.
