A coleção Luís Filipe Oliveira na Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian

Abstract

O presente trabalho de projeto, efetuado na Biblioteca de Arte e Arquivos da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, consiste na descrição da coleção “Luís Filipe Oliveira”, integrada no projeto ROSSIO - uma infraestrutura portuguesa de investigação na área das Ciências Sociais, Artes e Humanidades, com a finalidade de disponibilizar um conjunto de fontes em vista a representar o património cultural da língua portuguesa. Para a descrição do trabalho, é considerada uma abordagem baseada na investigação qualitativa - que consiste na atuação direta na organização da informação, onde é efetuada a descrição pormenorizada da coleção e a identificação do produtor - Luís Filipe Cândido de Oliveira - desde a obtenção do nome (patente no registo da coleção) até à troca de e-mails com o filho do mesmo. Durante o processo de tratamento, é ainda feita uma possível contextualização da coleção na Fundação - onde se levantam hipóteses para a incorporação da coleção no Arquivo de Arte do serviço de Belas-Artes até à sua transferência, em 2001, para a Biblioteca de Arte - devido à extinção do Arquivo de Arte -, e se selecionam os instrumentos utilizados para proceder à sua descrição - de acordo com as normas delineadas pela International Standart Bibliographic Description e a utilização de regras, na Biblioteca de Arte, para o processamento bibliográfico, como as Regras Portuguesas de Catalogação e o manual SIPORBASE - assim como a necessidade de parametrização do software de gestão documental HORIZON de modo a responder às particularidades presentes nas coleções fotográficas -, e ainda uma análise bibliométrica - onde se procede a uma análise dos resultados obtidos. Relativamente ao projeto em si, pretendeu-se identificar os “núcleos” patentes na coleção e organizar a mesma, através de uma classificação hierárquica. Este trabalho permitiu responder a algumas questões levantadas ao longo do trabalho e perceber que Luís Filipe Cândido de Oliveira era um fotógrafo que colaborava com a Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian (descartando a hipótese de ser funcionário), onde não existe propriamente documentação (no Arquivo institucional da Fundação) que justifique a incorporação da coleção na instituição.

This project work, carried out at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation - Art Library and Archives, consists of the description of the “Luís Filipe Oliveira” collection, integrated in the ROSSIO project - a Portuguese research infrastructure in the Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities area, with the purpose of providing a set of sources to represent the cultural heritage of the Portuguese language. For the description of the work, it is considered an approach based on qualitative research - which consists of direct action in the organization of information, where is made the detailed description of the collection and the identification of the producer - Luís Filipe Cândido de Oliveira - since the obtention of his name (patent in the collection registration) until the exchange of emails with his son. During the treatment process, a possible contextualization of the collection in the Foundation is also made - where hypotheses are raised for the incorporation of the collection in the Art Archive of the Fine Arts service until its transfer in 2001 to the Art Library - due to the extinction of the Art Archive - and the instruments used to describe it - in accordance with the standards outlined by the International Standart Bibliographic Description and the use of rules in the Art Library for bibliographic processing, such as Portuguese Cataloging Rules and the SIPORBASE manual - as well as the need for parameterization of the HORIZON document management software in order to respond to the particularities presented in photographic collections - as well as a bibliometric analysis - which proceeds to an analysis of the results obtained. Regarding the project itself, it was intended to identify the “cores” patents in the collection and organize it, through a hierarchical classification. This work allowed to answer some questions raised throughout the work and to realize that Luís Filipe Cândido de Oliveira was a photographer who collaborated with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (discarding the hypothesis of being an employee), where there is no proper documentation (in the Foundation's institutional archive) justifying the incorporation of the collection in the institution.
