The present study framework is the area of Family Psychology, specifically, the conjugality. The aim is to understand the relevance of swing's practice in a couple's conjugal relationship. More specifically is to: try to understand the process of conjugal process of transformation from an exclusive marriage to the practice of Swing, and try to understand the role that this practice has in the couple's conjugal relationship. For this aim, we chose the methodology of case study, with a qualitative approach, of descriptive and exploratory kind. Regarding the instruments used for data collection, we opted for a Semi-Structured Interview based in the Appreciative Inquiry, and to complement the interview, we also used interviewee's written material on the subject. It was decided to use, for data analysis and discussion, a model used by Marujo and Neto (2007) based on the work of Gergen and Gergen (2004). These authors argue the importance of taking into account different considerations that are often not considered in detriment of science, such as researcher and reader's reflections. The results seem to be close to the ones in the literature related to this topic. Thus, the data suggest that the couple already perceived their relationship as satisfactory before opening the marriage, but their satisfaction has increased gradually during the process of Swing.
