Abstract

Este segundo volume da colecção dos Cadernos da Fototeca foi concebido para servir de memória da exposição Centro de Estudos Geográficos: 80 anos, 80 fotografias, organizada pela Fototeca do CEG no quadro das comemorações da fundação desta unidade de investigação científica, ocorrida em Abril de 1943. No caderno fotográfico aqui incluído, mantivemos o essencial da estrutura e do itinerário narrativo que planeámos para as fotografias mostradas na exposição presencial, que esteve patente no Instituto de Geografia e Ordenamento do Território da Universidade de Lisboa entre Maio e Setembro de 2023. A divulgação destas imagens constitui uma oportunidade privilegiada para promover a releitura e a reapropriação contemporâneas deste muito valioso corpus de fotografias geográficas.

This second volume of the Cadernos da Fototeca collection was designed to serve as a memorial to the exhibition Centre for Geographical Studies: 80 years, 80 photos, organised by the CEG’s Photo Library as part of the celebrations of the founding of this scientific research unit in April 1943. In the photographic notebook included here, we have kept the essence of the structure and narrative itinerary that we planned for the photographs shown in the on-site exhibition, which was held at the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning of the University of Lisbon between May and September 2023. The dissemination of these images is a privileged opportunity to promote the contemporary re-reading and re-appropriation of this very valuable corpus of geographical photographs.
