Resumo(s)

Gymnastics is a sport that has been around for many years and it is still one of the most popular Olympic sports although in a digital perspective, it is relatively new. Managing a competition, no matter the size, it is not an easy task. There are a number of rules and constraints that need to be accomplished in order to create a fair and robust competition. This is where information systems become useful. The aim of this project is to continue the work carried out by Acro Companion and improve the current competition management solution to make managing competitions as simple and efficient as possible. To achieve this goal, the current solution will be stabilized by inserting functions that validate the data entered by the user and resolving existing faults in the application, data redundancy will also be introduced to resolve problems with data loss in the application, and a variety of improvements and features will be added that will help not only Acro Companion’s customers but also other developers who continue to improve the competition management solution. Throughout the project, tests are also carried out to ensure that all the development that has already been made is not altered by new developments. This report will provide an overview of all the work carried out during the project, a comparison of the Acro Companion application with other competitors and some features that could be developed in the future to make it a more complete competition administration solution.
