Resumo(s)
Gymnastics, a sport prominently featured in the Olympics with a consistent presence over the
years, is encountering significant challenges in centralizing and making gymnasts’ results accessible. The complexity is heightened by the vast variety of competitions and disciplines, resulting
in fragmentation that complicates performance analysis. Acro Companion, a web application
platform established in 2016 in Ghent, Belgium, stands out as a result centralizer, streamlining research and offering a consolidated view of gymnasts’ performances. The company aims to make
the sport more fair, accurate, and enjoyable by providing comprehensive tools for real-time competition management, gymnast performance tracking, and audience engagement. Key features
include live streaming, real-time rankings and starting orders, competition schedules, and historical data on gymnasts. The application also offers judge panel information in both online and PDF
formats.
The project focuses on improving the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) of both
the gymnast’s profiles and live competitions to create a more intuitive and user-friendly platform,
thereby enhancing the interlinks between them. This includes the ability to view the competitions in which a gymnast has participated, along with their scores and rankings. Additionally,
the redesigned interface will feature streamlined access to historical performance data, enhanced
real-time updates during live competitions, and interactive elements that provide a comprehensive
and engaging user experience.
This document details the development process, including the challenges faced, solutions implemented to improve performance and usability, and contributions. Additionally, it describes
the importance of testing, including descriptions of unit and end-to-end tests, their design, and
implementation.
