Las lucernas siempre fueron materiales codiciados
para concretizar estudios de los más variados
tipos.
The roman lamps always was desirable archaeological materials to do any kind of lychnological studies. The morphology, the iconography and the epigraphy was great attractive that invited the experts to realize important studies about it. However, this study plans to derogate itself from the aesthetical aspects of the lamps and to do a short analysis about different rhythms of consume and commercialization, taking as example the extreme south west of the Iberian Peninsula, area were the author have focus his latest lychnological works. In this geographical area is possible to find an appreciable break, in a precise moment, in consume of roman lamps, observation that can`t be explained only by the classical arguments of the III century AD crises and reformulation of commercial networks. The most surprising is the coincidence of this moment with an event poorly known in this part of the Roman Empire, the growing visibility of Christianity.
