O manifesto de Getúlio Vargas à nação, de 10 de Novembro de 1937, foi uma demonstração plena do pensamento autoritário vigente à época. Nesse discurso, os promotores do golpe buscaram apresentar as motivações do ato perpetrado contra as instituições, em uma tentativa de comprovar algum nível de legitimidade – segundo suas próprias concepções – em relação aquela atitude. Uma breve análise de tal discurso constitui o intento deste trabalho.
The Getúlio Vargas manifesto to the nation of November 10, 1937 was a full demonstration of the authoritarian thinking in force at the time. In this discourse, the promoters of the coup sought to present the motivations of the act perpetrated against the institutions, in an attempt to prove some level of legitimacy - according to their own conceptions - in relation to that attitude. A brief analysis of such discourse constitutes the intent of this work.
