Cada sociedade é marcada pelos seus heróis. Contudo, há aqueles que
se eternizam por aquilo que escreveram ou disseram, sendo este um dos
objectivos da literatura: o de imortalizar-se. Óscar Ribas prestou um grande
contributo na recolha etnográfica dos aspectos da cultura angolana.
Com o romance Uanga=Feitiço, Óscar Ribas apresenta-nos o resultado
de uma recolha do folclore angolano da sociedade luandense em finais do
século XIX, cujo trabalho serve para comunidade de investigadores e não só
como um património sociocultural.
Abstract: Each society is marked by their heroes. However, there are those who perpetuate for what they wrote or said. This is one of literature's objectives: to immortalize themselves. Óscar Ribas made a major contribution in the ethnographic collection of the aspects of the Angolan culture. With the novel Uanga = Feitiço, Óscar Ribas gives us the result of a collection of the Luanda society Angolan folklore by the end of the XIX century. His work may be an essential sociocultural heritage for researchers and many other people.
