Resumo(s)
This study, on the topic “The contribution of interior design in teh development of preschool room”, concerns with the importance of early-years education (children ranging from three to five years-old) in kindergarten, and how this environment can be enhanced in order to increase the cognitive, motor and social development of children, from the perspective of an interior designer. The research seeks the constraints that limit the possible interventions that can be made in a space with such features, and how can an interior project be made that accounts all the educational needs and welfare of children. So, for that, we have studied the several stages of childhood development, the interactions between children and their environment, the role and responsability of educators and the ways to organize all the classroom equipment depending on the pedagogic model selected. Through a proposal of intervention we suggest guidelines, duly supported by previous theoretical references, to project the interior of a classroom designed for the maximization of the acquisition of knowledge and skills of children in a kindergarten
