Resumo(s)
Num reconhecimento histórico e físico do Seixal, cujo traçado do
centro matriz se caracteriza por uma específica relação dual de cotas,
o presente estudo propõe uma reflexão sobre a referida paisagem
ribeirinha situada na margem sul do Tejo.
Identificando a necessidade de um programa de hospedagem para a
cidade do Seixal, é selecionada a área do Alto D. Ana pela sua
condição geomorfológica particular – lugar elevado sobre o centro
matriz do Seixal, associado à antiga fábrica de cortiça Mundet & C.ª,
Lda. (memória coletiva e património industrial local).
Reconhecendo este contexto, o estudo propõe também lançar as
bases para a restituição de espaço público qualificado, resolvendo a
cisão que se instalou entre área da fábrica e centro da cidade logo a
partir do início do séc. XX.
O hóspede, elemento representativo da arquitetura e instituição do
lazer, nasce como figura central do projeto que resulta de um factor
social e económico recente - o crescimento do turismo que visa e
procura as cidades bem como a sua identidade.
O projeto ganha forma através da implementação de um programa
de Hotel, utilizando o desenho como pano de fundo desde a leitura
de atmosfera do lugar à conceptualização de uma imagem de
arquitectura.
Partindo desta premissa, pretende-se alcançar um público em
constante busca de um valor acrescentado à sua experiência única e
singular na vivência do espaço.
ABSTRACT: Through a historical and physical study of Seixal, we conclude that its city centre is characterized by a specific and accentuated dual relation of heights in its geomorphology. Our research shows a whole reflection about the riverside landscape located in the south bank of the Tagus river. Alto D. Ana was, therefore, not only selected for its geomorphological characteristics – elevated site over the city centre of Seixal, but also for its association with the old cork factory Mundet & C. ª, Lda. (collective memory and local heritage). The present study also suggests the restitution of a qualified public space, through solving the scission installed between the factory area and the city centre since the beginning of the 20th century. The “guest” is a representative element of the institution and architecture of leisure, it was originated as the central figure of the project which motivation results from a recent social and economic factor - the growth of tourism that aims at and looks for cities with a strong identity. The project takes shape by the implementation of an Hotel program, using drawing as a way of interpreting the place atmosphere and as a way of reaching the conceptualization of an image of architecture. Taking this premise as a point of start, the research focuses on a costumer in constant search for an added value to his experience – a unique and singular experience of space.
