Hematologia, Imunologia, Bioquímica, Biologia Molecular e Microbiologia. O respetivo
This work was carried out in the context of obtaining a master's degree in clinical analysis by the College of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon. It is divided into two parts that complement each other, the first part being an internship report, and the second part a monograph with the title “the importance of the preanalytical phase in the clinical laboratory”. The internship was carried out at the Cintramédica laboratory, in the following areas: Triage/pre-analytical phase, Hematology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Molecular biology and Microbiology. The respective report reflects everything that was learned during the 1080 internships completed, from the different techniques and manual protocols, the methodologies of the devices used by the laboratory, as well as the theoretical bases on these parameters, notions about quality control, and criteria of validation of results in different areas. The monograph complements the theoretical bases of what was observed during the internship, and also my professional experience as a phlebotomist, with regard to the preanalytical phase, which is a phase that encompasses all the necessary procedures until the beginning of the analytical phase. The aim is to address the principles and actions that define the pre-analytical phase, and the different implications of incorrect or inadequate procedures, to elucidate its importance in the proper functioning and, consequently, in the quality and credibility of the Clinical Analysis Laboratory.
