Abstract(s)
The archaeological work carried out in the Convento da Graça (Tavira) allowed the identification of an Iron Age necropolis. Incineration urns of Cruz del Negro type, identical in form and ritual of others of the West Iberian Peninsula, specifically from the tartessian area, were found and excavated. Theses finds, in a site where an oriental and phoenician Iron Age occupation is well known, are discussed in the context of the traditional interpretation of this necropolis type. We propose another social and cultural point of view about the social group that was buried in these type of cemetery.
