Perante a crescente importância económica e social da investigação científica
produzida no seio das instituições de ensino superior, este artigo procura refletir
sobre a relação entre as bibliotecas académicas e os docentes e investigadores,
incidindo nos mecanismos de suporte e formação oferecidos a estes grupos de
utilizadores. As boas práticas nacionais e internacionais analisadas na web (através
de uma observação direta não participante) revelam uma forte tendência nas práticas
biblioteconómicas para o reforço do apoio à investigação. Propõe-se assim que as
bibliotecas académicas desenvolvam programas de formação estruturados,
apresentando-se uma proposta formativa implementada numa biblioteca
universitária portuguesa.
Given the growing economic and social importance of scientific research produced within higher education institutions, this paper discuss the relationship between academic libraries and faculty and researchers, focusing on support and training mechanisms offered to these users’ profiles. The national and international good practices analyzed (through a direct non-participant observation) reveal a trend to strengthen the research support. It is proposed the development of researchers’ training and presented a project implemented in a Portuguese university library.
