O conceito de espírito (Geist) desenvolvido por Kant na Crítica da Facul‑
dade do Juízo muito nos pode lembrar a ideia de um não sei quê, difundida por
toda a Europa nos séculos XVI e XVII, ocupando um lugar de grande relevância
no pensamento estético. O “Jardim do Não sei quê”, lugar alegórico criado por
Marivaux, é um dos mais preciosos testemunhos desta reflexão. O presente ensaio
propõe uma releitura do parágrafo §49 da terceira Crítica de Kant, procurando
relacioná-lo com os pensadores e poetas que ao largo dos séculos encontraram
no não sei quê um modo de expressão privilegiado. Tentaremos mostrar como o
conceito de espírito, em Kant, é uma revisitação do não sei quê e uma outra forma
de abrir os portões do jardim de Marivaux.
The concept of spirit(Geist) developed by Kant on the Critique of Judge‑ ment may bring to memory the idea of a je ne sais quoi, spread across Europe in the 16th and 17th centuries, which occupied a relevant position on the aesthetic thought of that period. The “Garden of je ne sais quoi”, allegorical place created by Marivaux, is one of the most precious testimonies of that idea. The present es‑ say proposes a rereading of the 49th paragraph of Kant’s third Critique, relating it with the thinkers and poets who have found on je ne sais quoi a privileged way of expression. We will try to show how Kant’s concept of spirit revisits the je ne sais quoi, becoming another path to Marivaux’s garden.
