O processo de trabalho num laboratório de Análises Clínicas, é uma sequência de procedimentos que está sujeito a um grande número de erros que põem em causa a fiabilidade dos resultados, a segurança dos utentes, a qualidade dos serviços prestados pelo laboratório e da saúde em geral.
A adoção de sistemas de gestão de qualidade tem como objetivos tornar as organizações mais competitivas, pretendendo melhorar, de forma continua, o nível de desempenho da organização, atingir ou superar a expectativa dos clientes e transmitem confiança, credibilidade e satisfação e cumprem as normas e padrões exigidos.
A certificação permite verificar a conformidade dos laboratórios e o cumprimento do referencial aplicável, enquanto que a acreditação é o reconhecimento da capacidade e da competência técnica do laboratório para exercer as atividades de avaliação da conformidade aplicável.
A acreditação de laboratórios segue normas internacionais, adotadas por diversos países, podendo os LAC ser acreditados segundo a norma ISO 15189, e assim permitir aos clientes a escolha das empresas que melhor cumprem as exigências de segurança e qualidade.
The work process in a clinical analysis laboratory is a sequence of procedures that is subject to a large number of errors that jeopardize the reliability of the results, the safety of users, the quality of the services provided by the laboratory and health in general. The adoption of quality management systems aims to make organizations more competitive, intending to continuously improve the organization`s performance level, achieve or exceed customer expectations and convey the certainty that the products or services provided convey trust, credibility and satisfaction and comply with the required norms and standards. Certification makes it possible to verify the compliance of laboratories and compliance whit the applicable reference, while accreditation is the recognition of the capacity and technical competence of the laboratory to carry out the applicable conformity assessment activities. Laboratory accreditation follows international standards, adopted by several countries, and LACs can be accredited according to the ISO 15189 standard, thus allowing customers to choose the companies that best meet safety and quality requirements.
