Este relatório descreve o trabalho realizado no âmbito da disciplina
de Projecto em Engenharia Informática do Mestrado em Engenharia Informática
da Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa. O trabalho
aborda uma solução de planeamento e configuração de redes seguras, designada
por N3TS - Network Smart Security Solution - e consistiu em dar continuidade a construção de um protótipo que já vinha sendo desenvolvido na Nokia Siemens Networks.
O protótipo do N3TS e constituído por várias componentes e no início
deste projecto apresentava-se numa fase inicial de desenvolvimento, com
algumas dessas componentes ainda bastante limitadas em funcionalidades.
O trabalho focou-se numa das componentes mais \pobres" do protótipo,
que desempenha um papel central em toda a solução pois actua como mediador
entre as restantes. O objectivo principal foi o de criar uma aplicação standalone e nativa com um aumento significativo das funcionalidades em relação as que a antiga disponibilizava. O relatório descreve todos os passos dados no desenvolvimento desta aplicação, tais como o planeamento prévio
das funcionalidades, a modelação da arquitectura do sistema e a criação da
aplicação final.
This report describes the work carried out under the project class of Informatics Engineering, part of the Master in Informatics Engineering of the University of Lisbon. This work is focused on a solution for planning and setting up secure networks called N3TS - Network Smart Security Solution and had the purpose of continuing the construction of a prototype that was already being developed at Nokia Siemens Networks. The N3TS prototype has several components, and at the beginning of this project, it was at an early stage of development, with some of these components still quite limited in functionality. The work focused on one of the prototype's \poorest" components, which plays a central role in the whole solution, because it acts as a mediator between the other components. The main objective was to create a native and standalone application with significant feature increase regarding the old one. This report describes all the steps taken during the development of this application, namely planning, definition of the system architecture and the creation of the final application.
