| dc.description.abstract | Portugal é um país onde a problemática dos incêndios rurais está bem presente, com destaque para a região Centro e para a sub-região do Pinhal Interior Sul em particular. O aumento sucessivo da área ardida e a ocorrência cada vez mais frequente de Grandes Incêndios Rurais, resultam de inúmeros fatores, entre os quais o desordenamento e falta de gestão territorial e consequentemente as alterações do uso e ocupação do solo que se têm vindo a verificar. Neste trabalho foram usadas várias metodologias, entre as quais um Focus Group, uma análise da dinâmica da paisagem utilizando sistemas de informação geográfica As transições de usos e ocupação do solo, influenciadas em parte pelos movimentos e alterações populacionais, assumem algum destaque no Pinhal Interior Sul e potenciam a ocorrência de incêndios rurais e uma elevada área ardida. Apesar da região continuar a ser profundamente florestal e agrícola, a diminuição destas áreas em detrimento de áreas de matagais e sem gestão representa invariavelmente um aumento da probabilidade da ocorrência de incêndios rurais. Muitas das transições de uso e ocupação do solo verificadas são potenciadas pela ocorrência de incêndios, desempenhando por isso o fogo um papel transformador da paisagem. Perante a ocorrência “regular” destes incêndios rurais, tanto a população local, como os stakeholders envolvidos revelam alguma desmotivação e hesitação perante qualquer ação de gestão do território ou investimento agrícola/florestal, tendo como prioridade de salvaguarda as suas habitações e aglomerados urbanos. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Portugal is a country where the problem of rural fires is very present, especially in the Central region and the Pinhal Interior Sul sub-region in particular. The successive increase in the area burnt and the increasingly frequent occurrence of major rural fires are the result of numerous factors, including disorganization and lack of land management and, consequently, the changes in land use and occupation that have been taking place. This work has used a variety of methods, including a focus group, an analysis of landscape dynamics using geographic information systems. Transitions in land use and occupation, influenced in part by population movements and changes, are particularly prominent in the Pinhal Interior Sul region and have led to the occurrence of rural fires and a high number of fires. Although the region continues to be deeply forested and agricultural, the decrease in these areas to the detriment of scrubland and unmanaged areas invariably represents an increase in the likelihood of rural fires. Many of the transitions in land use and occupation that have taken place are enhanced by the occurrence of fires, and fire therefore plays a role in transforming the landscape. Faced with the "regular" occurrence of these rural fires, both the local population and the stakeholders involved show a certain lack of motivation and hesitation when it comes to any land management action or agricultural/forestry investment, and their priority is to protect their homes and urban settlements. | pt_PT |
