This document describes the work developed during the stage that took place in the Deloitte Company, in connection with the degree in Informatic Engineering Project, second year of the Mastership for Informatic Engineering in Lisbon University – Sciences school. The accomplished work was connected to the D:Files project, which intends to create a document’ management solution for the whole company, in order to reduce the use of paper and as a contribution towards the increased efficiency of business processes – therefore, the organizational efficacy. In this context, the development of a module for processing credit notes was the job’s basic vocation. This module is one of the components of the process P2P (Purchase-to-pay), which includes all activities related to purchases, from the internal request-application up to payment, through out the approval of processes and digital filling-procedures of involved documentation. The aim of this module is to simplify and create automatisms for the internal procedures regarding credit notes, since their entrance up until their final registration at the company. For such purpose, several tasks were accomplished, starting with the planning and design of a new workflow, all the way through its integration with the existing systems until the support and assistance to final users. The accomplishment of all this phases involves the development of several components, such as web forms for interacting with the system, as well as Windows services and Web services for processing the information. The components developed intend to complement Livelink management platform, externally bought by the company, that allows the management of company contents (ECM – Enterprise Content Management) as well as the storage and organization of electronic documents (DMS – Document Management System).
