Resumo(s)
Around 50 Km from Lisbon, over a hundred military earthworks located up the hills between the river Tagus and the Atlantic Ocean survived after 200 years. They are at the origin of a project of rehabili-tation, interpretation and fruition that has been named Linhas de Torres Historic Route. A decade of research and intervention works on around 30 military structures led to more information about building materials and techniques used, whilst also enabling the testing of rehabilitation techniques /structure stabilisation, and moni-toring the effects of men and the elements on earthworks built in between invasions so as to halt the advance of Napoleon’s army.
