Atualmente, considerando as dificuldades sentidas no panorama económico mundial, uma das grandes preocupações industriais passa pela redução de custos associados à produção e à criação de valor. Os importantes avanços tecnológicos, a globalização da concorrência e uma diminuição dos custos nas linhas de produção, geram uma crescente pressão a empresas fornecedores de serviços e/ou produtos.
O caso apresentado nesta Dissertação está inserido na melhoria do desempenho operacional da área do fabrico da empresa X, líder de mercado na comercialização de medicamentos genéricos em Portugal. Foi estudado e analisado o procedimento de mudança de linha de uma máquina de compressão com o objetivo de reduzir o mesmo.
As principais limitações identificadas estão presentes no fluxo de materiais, experiência dos operadores na máquina em estudo e na falta de normalização de processos. Nesse sentido, a presente Dissertação apresenta os resultados obtidos da implementação de ferramentas selecionadas, partindo do estudo de exemplos da revisão bibliográfica.
Relativamente aos impactos resultantes da implementação das iniciativas propostas, destaca-se a redução de 25,4% do tempo médio de mudança de linha que resultaria numa poupança anual de 25,000€.
Currently, considering the difficulties experienced in the global economic landscape, one of the major industrial concerns is to reduce costs associated with production and value creation. The important technological advances, the globalization of competition and a decrease in costs in production lines, generate an increasing pressure on companies that supply services and/or products. The case study presented in this Dissertation is inserted in the improvement of the operational performance of the manufacturing area of company X, a market leader in the commercialization of generic drugs in Portugal. The changeover procedure of a compression machine was studied and analyzed, with the aim of reducing it. The main limitations identified are present in the material flow, operator experience in the machine under study and the lack of process standardization. In this sense, this Dissertation presents the results obtained from the implementation of selected tools, based on the study of examples from the literature review. Regarding the impacts resulting from the implementation of the proposed initiatives, the project achieved a 25,4% reduction in average changeover time, which resulted in an annual savings of 25,000€.
