<dcterms:accessRights>open access</dcterms:accessRights><dc:type>info:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesis</dc:type><dc:format>application/pdf</dc:format><dcterms:link>http://catalogo.ul.pt/F/?func=item-global&doc_library=ULB01&type=03&doc_number=000562594</dcterms:link><dcterms:abstract>The educational community observes the growth of the phenomenon of cultural and linguistic diversity, following the effects of globalisation. The centre of interest of this investigation involved the exercise of leadership of an intermediate structure with the intention of promoting an intercultural citizenship. In this study, the concept of intercultural citizenship acquires a major importance especially in the practices of educational agents, as a strategy for an effective integration process of cultural minorities. The conceptual framework of this research was organized around the three major dimensions that underpin our study - organizational culture, intercultural citizenship and middle leadership. The study focuses on a descriptive and interpretative approach, assumed in the paradigm of qualitative research. It was developed in an urban school in Lisbon, with a multicultural environment. Some of the results alert us to the perception of the educational practices of the intermediate leadership in promoting the development of intercultural citizenship shared by all educational players. In multicultural classrooms, intercultural citizenship can be seen as a principle that supports the teaching practice. The results of this research concern all educational managers, who develop research in the area of administration and school management, teachers, educators, students and trainers and to all who are concerned with educational issues. It is a study that focuses on a current problem and reflects the actual practices of educational leaders and other actors.</dcterms:abstract><dc:subject>Administração escolar</dc:subject><dc:subject>Organização escolar</dc:subject><dc:subject>Teses de mestrado</dc:subject></record></value></md></mds><relations/><stream_ref><file_name>19288_ulfc091318_tm_PDF_ TESE_HelenaBarriga.pdf</file_name><file_extension>pdf</file_extension><mime_type>application/pdf</mime_type><directory_path>/digitool_storage/deposit-master/2009/10/01/file_1/19288</directory_path><file_id xsi:nil="true" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"/><storage_id>1006</storage_id><external_type>-1</external_type><file_size_bytes>1016269</file_size_bytes></stream_ref></xb:digital_entity></xb:digital_entity_call>
