<dcterms:accessRights>open access</dcterms:accessRights><dc:type>info:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesis</dc:type><dc:format>application/pdf</dc:format><dc:link>http://catalogo.ul.pt/F/?func=item-global&doc_library=ULB01&type=03&doc_number=000580582</dc:link><dcterms:abstract>The present thesis focuses on the subject of spontaneous abortion, attempting to find information regarding its impact on a future pregnancy. Pregnancy and maternity are frequently positive experiences that put aside a more negative dimension that those life experiences can produce. The loss of a baby in utero is associated to a broad set of feelings and emotions that will haunt the woman in long term. When a woman with previous spontaneous abortion history engages in a new pregnancy, tends to be confronted with contradictory feelings that can influence the attachment to the new baby. The purpose of the present study was to compare prenatal attachment in a new pregnancy in women without previous spontaneous abortion history versus pregnant women with at least one spontaneous abortion. With this in mind, we engaged in the selection of 114 women, 52 of them with spontaneous abortion history and 62 without any spontaneous abortion. Instruments used con8sisted in a Socio-Demographic Questionnaire and a Prenatal Attachment Questionnaire (Condon, 1993). We hoped that Prenatal Attachment would be lower in women with previous spontaneous abortion (hypothesis 1). The empirically collected results didn’t show support for this hypothesis. Limitations for this study were presented as well as suggestions for future investigations.</dcterms:abstract><dc:subject>Gravidez</dc:subject><dc:subject>Aborto espontâneo</dc:subject><dc:subject>Teses de mestrado - 2009</dc:subject></record></value></md></mds><relations/><stream_ref><file_name>22258_ulfp034842_tm.pdf</file_name><file_extension>pdf</file_extension><mime_type>application/pdf</mime_type><directory_path>/digitool_storage/deposit-master/2010/05/05/file_1/22258</directory_path><file_id xsi:nil="true" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"/><storage_id>1006</storage_id><external_type>-1</external_type><file_size_bytes>604028</file_size_bytes></stream_ref></xb:digital_entity></xb:digital_entity_call>
