A presente investigação tem como objectivo estudar a relação entre Perspectiva Temporal e a Adaptação à Escola. De forma a atingir esse objectivo, o presente estudo dividiu-se em duas partes. Numa primeira parte desenvolveu-se o estudo prévio do Questionário de Adaptação Escolar. Na segunda parte, correspondente ao estudo principal, analisaram-se os resultados tendo em conta a problemática em estudo. No estudo principal, foram aplicados a alunos do 9º ano, o Questionário de Adaptação Escolar em conjunto com o Inventário de Perspectiva Temporal (N=134). Os resultados obtidos permitiram apoiar a relação entre a orientação temporal de futuro e a adaptação à escola. Esta associação é mais intensa quando relacionada com as subescalas de Atitude Académica e Bem-estar Escolar. Através do estudo diferencial efectuado entre géneros, verificou-se que o género feminino apresenta atitudes de orientação para o passado, o relacionamento com os pares e índices de adaptação à escola mais elevados, comparativamente com os alunos do género masculino. The present investigation had as a main goal to study the relation between Temporal Perspective and the adaptation to school. To reach that goal, the present study was divided in two parts. In the first part, the previous study of the questioner of Adaptation to School was developed. In the second part, corresponding to the main study, the procedures related to the main of the study were developed. In this study, the questioner Adaptation to School and the Inventory of Temporal Perspective were applied to 9th graders (N=134). The results obtained support the relation between temporal orientation for the future and adaptation to school. This association was more intense between the temporal orientation for the future and the subscales of Academic Attitude and School Well-being. The differential study within genders revelead that the female gender presents higher attitudes of orientation for the past, the relationship with the peers and higher level of adaptation to school.
