<dc:link>http://catalogo.ul.pt/F/?func=item-global&doc_library=ULB01&type=03&doc_number=000570959</dc:link><dcterms:abstract>The European Union is changing it´s energy paradigm with the objective of solving environmental, economic and energy provision security sustainability problems. Micro generation is crucial in the energy decentralization and democratization process. Comparing between the short, medium and long term total costs of a centralized fossil fuel system and a renewable decentralized system, we observe that the initial high implementation costs of micro generation are surpassed in eleven years by the cumulative fixed and variable costs of the centralized fossil fuel system. A bibliographical analysis from each Member-states of the strategies, markets and research within the energy sector for the development and implementation of renewable micro generation technologies, was carried out, from which two countries were chosen, because of their leadership in a relevant area of the energy sector and comparable with Portugal. Two benchmarking analysis were then made between Portugal/Greece and Portugal/Denmark to find out which technology and implementation strategy are more appropriate to Portugal. The availability of a energy resource is very important for the competitiveness and the development of a renewable technology. In Portugal, the advantageous technology must have a solar basis, because of it´s solar availability and for being produced at the same time that is being needed. A simple and cheap process in each stage of the implementation is necessary in order to guarantee it´s success and to promote the formation of consistent technological clusters.</dcterms:abstract></record></value></md></mds><relations/><stream_ref><file_name>20821_ulfc080598_tm.pdf</file_name><file_extension>pdf</file_extension><mime_type>application/pdf</mime_type><directory_path>/digitool_storage/deposit-master/2010/01/14/file_1/20821</directory_path><file_id xsi:nil="true" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"/><storage_id>1006</storage_id><external_type>-1</external_type><file_size_bytes>1564483</file_size_bytes></stream_ref></xb:digital_entity></xb:digital_entity_call>
